PART Q Certification
What is Part Q?
Part Q is part of the Building Regulations 2010 (Updated 2015), which sets a minimum-security requirement of windows and doors in new dwellings. This aims to reduce the risk of unauthorised access.
Our Part Q Approval
In 2025, we achieved Part Q approval through Coastal’s Part Q Scheme. This requires windows and door sets to be manufactured to an approved design that has been tested to meet the security requirements of PAS 24:2012.
Our approved joinery systems:
- Are tested to PAS 24 security standards
- Include secure glazing, fixings, locks and hinges
- Are suitable for use in new-build residential projects
- Meet Building Control requirements without additional justification
This applies to our compliant ranges of:
- Windows
- External doors
What This Means For You
Bespoke & Design Flexibility
Part Q compliance doesn’t mean limited choice. We can still offer:
- Bespoke sizes and configurations
- Traditional or contemporary designs
- Finished, glazed and ready-to-install joinery

If your project requires Part Q, feel free to get in touch with any queries.
