If you want to alter or extend a listed building in a way that affects its character or appearance as a building of special architectural or historic interest, or even demolish it, you must first apply for Listed Building Consent from your local planning authority. An Article 4 Direction is a special planning regulation that gives extra planning control in a chosen area (i.e. Conservation Area).
Heritage windows can be a perfect solution where full 24mm double glazing is not suitable. Our 14mm slimline Heritage range replicates the proportions of single glazed units and therefore is often the choice for listed building or where original proportions need to be maintained.
